The Complete Hair Care Wash Routine

Use as a pair at every wash — the sequence matters.

1.  Wet hair thoroughly with lukewarm water. Apply 3–5g of Total Care Shampoo to the scalp. Massage in circular motions for at least 30 seconds — this stimulates micro-circulation and generates the mild lather the sulfate-free formula produces. Work through lengths and ends.

2.  Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Squeeze excess water gently from the hair — soaking wet hair dilutes the conditioner on contact.

3.  Apply Total Care Conditioner to mid-lengths and ends (and lightly to the scalp for very dry hair). Distribute evenly with a wide-tooth comb for coverage and gentle detangling.

4.  Leave on for 1–2 minutes. This is the window in which the protein and oil actives interact with the open cuticle — do not rush this step.

5.  Rinse thoroughly with cool water. The cool rinse is the sealing step — it contracts the cuticle over the deposited actives, locking in the conditioning benefit and producing the smoothness and shine that distinguish this routine from a single-product wash.

About This Combination

Q1. Is there a genuine scientific reason to use these two products as a pair, or is it simply convenient?

There is a specific biological rationale. The shampoo's primary function is cleansing — its mild surfactants open the cuticle slightly during washing to remove sebum and debris. This cuticle opening, while necessary for cleansing, also temporarily increases the hair fiber's vulnerability to moisture loss and mechanical friction. The conditioner's function is to close that cuticle, deposit emollient oils and protein into the now-accessible fiber, and seal in the Keratin and D-Panthenol actives that both products share. The shampoo creates the biological window; the conditioner exploits it. Used separately, neither product achieves what both deliver together.

Q2. Both products contain Keratin, Proline, and Vitamin B5. Does that create redundancy?

The overlap is the point, not a redundancy. In the shampoo phase, these actives have brief contact time — minutes, with water present, followed by rinsing. In the conditioner phase, they have required contact time on a clean, slightly open cuticle, followed by a cool-water seal. The shampoo deposits the first layer of protein reinforcement; the conditioner deposits a second, deeper layer and then locks it in. Think of the shampoo as priming and the conditioner as finishing — the same active system performing sequentially at different depths.

Q3. The conditioner contains 4 emollient oils that the shampoo does not. Why are these oils not in the shampoo?

Emollient oils in a shampoo would be counter-productive — surfactants, which cleanse by removing oils, would simply wash them away before they could deposit meaningfully on the hair. The conditioner's rinse-off format (brief leave-on, cool-water rinse) is specifically designed to allow the oils to penetrate and partially deposit on the fiber before the water closes the cuticle over them. The split design — actives and cleansing in the shampoo, emollients and sealing in the conditioner — is a deliberate formulation choice to maximize the benefit of both functions.

Q4. My hair is fine and prone to limpness. Is the conditioner too heavy for daily use?

The conditioner's 4 oils (Argan, Olive, Jojoba, Almond) are specifically selected for their ability to absorb into the fiber rather than coat its surface — Jojoba in particular mimics the hair's own sebum and absorbs exceptionally well. For fine hair, apply only to mid-lengths and ends, leave on for 1 minute (not longer), and rinse with cool water. This discipline ensures the conditioning benefit without the surface heaviness that less-absorbent oils would cause.

Q5. How does this combination benefit chemically treated or color-treated hair specifically?

Chemical treatments and coloring processes degrade the hair's keratin matrix, deplete natural lipids, and permanently alter the cuticle structure — leaving hair prone to dryness, frizz, brittleness, and rapid color fading. The shampoo's sulfate-free formula prevents the additional cuticle damage that sulfate-based shampoos cause with every wash. The conditioner's Keratin complex (from wheat, soy, and corn) fills the protein gaps in the compromised cortex; the oils restore the lipid layer; and the cool-water rinse seals the cuticle to lock in color and prevent further moisture escape. For chemically treated hair, this pairing is not optional — it is maintenance.

Q6. How does consistent use of this combination change hair over time?

In the short term (first 2–4 weeks): noticeably softer texture, reduced frizz, improved shine, and more manageable hair. In the medium term (1–3 months): structural improvement in the hair fiber's protein content from cumulative Keratin deposition; reduced breakage; and sustained moisture balance that reduces the cycle of dry-then-oily scalp many people experience with conventional shampoos. The improvement is cumulative — each wash-and-condition cycle builds on the previous one.
